OSU D-lineman Receives Release from Program

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State defensive lineman Kenny Hayes was not with the team that reported for the first day of fall camp early Friday morning.

According to a University spokesperson, the second-year lineman out of Toledo Whitmer has asked for and received his release from the OSU football program. There is no indication yet where, or if, he intends to continue his playing career.

The 6-5, 285-pound Hayes was going to be a redshirt freshman with the Buckeyes this fall. He attended classes at Ohio State in the spring, but missed all of spring practice under new head coach Urban Meyer; reportedly because of recurring headaches....
